Lockbit, the ransomware group linked to Russia that attacked the Royal Mail in January, has released chat transcripts on the dark web revealing the conversations between its operators and a Royal Mail negotiator. The details show Royal Mail rejecting demands to pay $80m (£67m), which the hackers claim represents 0.5% of the company’s annual revenue, in return for decrypting the files. Royal Mail said, "Under no circumstances will we pay that absurd amount," explaining to the attackers that “all we have had is losses."
