Personal data affected in Jaguar Land Rover cyberattack

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has confirmed that the recent cyberattack that has caused the prolonged closure of its factories in the UK and abroad has escalated into a personal data breach. 

JLR could not yet provide more information about what data was affected, or whether customer or supplier data was stolen, but said that it would be contacting those affected. The company has notified the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) along with other relevant authorities. 

A group of hackers linked to the cyberattack on Marks & Spencer have claimed responsibility for the incident. The group, which posted a screenshot of JLR's internal systems on Telegram, is associated with three hacking groups known as Scattered Spider, Lapsus$, and ShinyHunters.
