Apple warns AirTag users not to track people

Apple has confirmed that it will warn AirTag customers not to use the Bluetooth-enabled tiny devices that report their location to track people. The change comes after several reports of women discovering AirTag devices in their personal belongings. The company has been working with safety groups and law enforcement agencies to identify ways that it can make AirTags less open to misuse. Apple has already built safety features into the product to alert users if an unrecognised AirTag moves with them for a period of time. In other Apple privacy-related news, The Register reports using the Zoom app on an Apple Mac could result in the computer microphone remaining on after the Zoom app was closed down.
