15,000 individuals' records deleted from Police National Computer

A mistake has led to the more than 15,000 people's records being completely deleted from the Police National Computer. The Government has disclosed the full scale of the data loss, which first came to light in January. In total, 209,550 offence records that relate to 112,697 individuals were deleted from the PNC, including the entire records of 15,089 people.
