India proposes data transfer blacklist in draft data protection bill

The Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Bill (DPDPB) will likely contain a "negative list" of countries for international data transfers. The development, confirmed by the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekha means the proposed DPDPB will allow data transfers "by default" unless otherwise noted by the government.
