Facebook ads are able to target single users

A team of academics and computer scientists have demonstrated how it is possible to use Facebook's targeting tools to deliver an ad to a single individual, according to a new research paper. Using information about the user's interests and preferences assigned by Facebook, researchers successfully demonstrated that they were able to target several ads so that each ad only reached a single Facebook user.
