A patient's death has been directly linked to the cyberattack on NHS pathology services provided by Synnovis in 2024. King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust confirmed a patient "sadly died unexpectedly" during the incident. A subsequent safety investigation identified that a lengthy delay in obtaining the results of a blood test, exacerbated by the disruption caused by the cyberattack, was a contributing factor. The hospital has met with the patient's family to share these findings.
