Boards more concerned about cyber risk than CISOs

According to a report published by cybersecurity firm Proofpoint and MIT Sloan, there is a global disconnect between chief information security officers (CISOs) and boardroom executives when it comes to evaluating cyber risk. The report identifies that 65% of boards are concerned about major cyberattacks, compared with only 48% of CISOs. Proofpoint global resident CISO Lucia Milică explained the widespread digitisation due to the pandemic raised the importance of cybersecurity at board level, a trend which is likely to continue.
