Motorola to introduce AI nutrition labels to its law enforcement security tech
24/07/2025 | Reuters
Motorola has announced that it will introduce artificial intelligence (AI) labels across its safety and security products to enhance transparency regarding artificial intelligence in public safety and enterprise security. The labels, which resemble nutrition information labels on food packaging, will describe the AI technology being used, data ownership, and the level of human oversight.
Beginning later this year, the initiative is intended to clarify how AI is used in products such as body-worn cameras, command centre software, and video analytics platforms. As a major provider of communication equipment and surveillance tools for law enforcement globally, Motorola said the move is part of a broader strategy to build trust in AI-powered tools. The labels aim to help users better understand how AI supports decision-making in critical, high-stakes situations where clarity and speed are paramount.
