LIBE adopts DSA draft with added privacy protections

European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs adopted a proposal by MEP Patrick Breyer to emphasise privacy and fundamental rights in the proposed Digital Services Act. The European Commission proposed the DSA last year. The recent changes included phasing out personalised targeting for non-commercial and political advertising. “It is clear that the European Parliament proposal will be much more ambitious than the Commission’s proposal, in some aspects it could be groundbreaking,” Breyer said.
