EU antitrust investigation into Google, Fitbit acquisition date set

EU antitrust regulators will decide whether to allow the proposed $2.1b acquisition of the fitness tracking and wearables device manufacturer Fitbit by Google the US technology company owned by Alphabet Inc. If the purchase is approved, it will mean Google gets access to a trove of health and fitness data, which has sparked privacy concerns.
