DPC says EU-US data flows could face 'massive disruption'

Irish Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon has said that transborder data flows could be disrupted as a result of the CJEU's Schrems II ruling. Dixon added the level of impact could be appeased by successful negotiations between the EU and US, which remain at a "very early stage." According to the Wall Street Journal, the DPC could make draft decisions in half a dozen privacy cases involving technology companies in 2021. The DPC has also published its annual report for 2020.
