Verstappen's personal data accessed in FIA cyberattack

The FIA has revealed that a security breach earlier this summer briefly exposed the personal data of hundreds of racing drivers, including four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen. Hackers reportedly accessed the FIA's driver categorisation portal and gained administrator access by exploiting a "mass assignment" bug.
This vulnerability allowed them to view confidential information for every driver in the system, including passport numbers, contact details, and Super Licences. The hackers claim they did not download any sensitive data and immediately informed the FIA.
The FIA confirmed the cyber incident, stating that "immediate steps" were taken to secure the data. The organisation reported the issue to the relevant data protection authorities, notified the affected drivers, and confirmed that extensive cybersecurity investments have been made across its digital platforms.
