Belgian DPA approves IAB Europe's consent framework action plan

The Belgian data protection authority (DPA) has announced that it has formally approved the IAB Europe's action plan concerning its Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). IAB Europe now has a maximum of six months to implement the proposed measures. At this time, court proceedings are still due to go ahead.

UPDATE 120123 In response, IAB Europe announced that its TCF is compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation following the Belgium DPA's approval of its plan. In a statement, Townsend Feehan, CEO of IAB Europe, said β€œit is important to bear in mind that implementation of the action plan – which IAB Europe is now being required to effect over a period of six months – would entail operating changes for TCF participants that may ultimately be found inadequate by the European Court.”
