EU ePrivacy and processing without consent

The proposal for the new e-Privacy Regulation opens up processing powers without user consent for areas like metadata, pseudonymised data for statistical purposes, further processing and communications made to professional addresses. As the new proposal is debated over the coming months, industry lobbyists, regulators, and legislators will discuss the extent to which user information can be used when no consent has been given.
