PwC employee home working facial recognition tool criticised

Global accounting firm PWC has created a facial recognition tool to help financial institutions track employees working from home. The uses employees' webcams to detects when employees are not in front of their screens during work hours. Elsewhere, it's reported that Microsoft tried to sell its facial recognition technology to the DEA. While Google is set to fight a facial recognition lawsuit in the US, arguing that Illinois state Biometric Privacy Act does not apply to data obtained from photos. Going one step further, The Moscow Times reports that Russia is to install facial recognition technology in schools.
