PCS Union members at ICO to hold day of action on 30 September

The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union has announced a day of action on 30 September over what it describes as a toxic workplace culture at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
The demonstration coincides with the official opening of the regulator's Manchester headquarters and its rebranding as the Information Commission. PCS members cite a climate of fear, falling morale, and leadership failures following the resignation of former Information Commissioner John Edwards in June amid bullying allegations.
The day of action on 30 September will focus on distributing leaflets to highlight that simply changing the name and headquarters will not solve the serious issues affecting staff wellbeing and safety. Meanwhile, the union is calling for the immediate launch of the previously committed independent government inquiry with a full remit to hold individuals accountable.
