Government risk legal action over secretive health database

Lawyers acting on behalf of openDemocracy have sent a letter to health secretary Sajid Javid asking for transparency over massive database of health data. The database, which Palantir was origionally contracted to run, is now being run internally in a system called Edge run by the Department of Health and Social Care, with building contracted out to BAE Systems. Now, openDemocracy, along with legal campaigners Foxglove, are demanding an explanation of what the system is for and what other private companies will be involved in its "set-up, operation and processing of sensitive personal data."
