ORG lodges complaints with ICO over UK political parties

The Open Rights Group has submitted complaints to the Information Commissioner’s Office following a campaign to make a number of subject access requests to the main UK political parties. The complaints are asking the ICO to act in order to ensure political parties provide clear, transparent information when an individual's personal data is requested, and that a proper test of necessity is applied on their data processing activities not “whatever it is that helps us win elections”.
