How standard contract terms can unlock responsible AI data sharing

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Expert Group on AI has published an article highlighting the need for standard contract terms to facilitate responsible artificial intelligence (AI) data sharing. 

The article highlights new research conducted by the Open Data Institute (ODI) in collaboration with the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University, which indicates that the development of standardised data license templates could significantly ease the challenges associated with data sharing. Such templates would help promote AI innovation while ensuring data sharing practices remain ethically and legally compliant. Data licenses are designed to outline the conditions under which datasets can be accessed, utilised, and shared.
