NOYB files GDPR complaints against TikTok, AliExpress & WeChat

Privacy and digital rights advocacy group NOYB has filed three complaints with the data protection authorities (DPA) in Belgium, Greece and the Netherlands against Chinese-owned video-based social media platform TikTok, ecommerce marketplace AliExpress and messaging app WeChat, for failures to provide data subjects the right to access their personal information under Article 15 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). NOYB also argues that the companies have violated Article 12 over failures to provide transparent information to data subjects about how they can exercise their rights.
