NIST publishes Control Overlay concept paper for securing AI systems

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released a new concept paper and proposed action plan for developing control overlays to secure artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The paper outlines how these overlays can be used to manage cybersecurity risks in the development and deployment of various AI technologies. It addresses specific use cases, including generative AI, predictive AI, as well as single and multi-agent AI systems. The paper also includes controls designed specifically for AI developers.
