Mistral announces moves towards European AI sovereignty

French artificial intelligence (AI) start-up Mistral has announced new initiatives to advance EU AI sovereignty by strengthening regional control, model access, and long-term compute capacity in Europe.
The company has made Mistral Regional Endpoints generally available, enabling customers to choose whether their inference runs in Europe or the US to meet regulatory, latency, and data-residency requirements. In addition, a new Priority Tier in public preview provides custom rate limits and is backed by an uptime service level agreement (SLA). Mistral is the only European AI lab to provide both regional processing choice and committed, SLA-backed service levels.
The initiative aims to provide organisations with operational control, choice over the intelligence they deploy, and assured access to compute infrastructure.
