ICO issues 16 more reprimands for data protection contraventions

Following on from a discovery late last year by Mischon de Reya that the ICO had issued 42 reprimands to organisations since the GDPR came into force in 2018. Now, a subsequent Freedom of Information request has revealed the ICO has issued 16 additional reprimands to organisations, including the Cabinet Office (Government Digital Service), the Metropolitan Police, the Crown Prosecution Service and UKIP, along with several other public bodies. The ICO withheld the identity of one of the recipients because the information relates to a body dealing with national security and intelligence or serious organised crime. The ICO has also confirmed it will publish all reprimands that it issues from now on.
