Salary details of 14,000 Liverpool NHS trust staff breached

Personal information belonging to around 14,000 employees at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been emailed to hundreds of NHS managers and 24 external accounts. The breach occurred when a hidden worksheet containing the names, addresses, dates of birth, national insurance numbers, gender, ethnicity and salary information was accidentally included in a spreadsheet. Chief executive of the NHS trust, James Sumner, has written to the data subjects informing them of the breach.
