ICO experienced huge increase in email attacks

The ICO experienced a 2650% increase in email attacks in 2021, according to figures released under a Freedom of Information request obtained by the Parliament Street think. The statistics show that the number of attacks rose from 150,317 in January to 4,135,075 in December. These figures relate to the number of phishing emails, malware, and spam detected or blocked by the ICO for each month across the year.
