Gartner recommends enterprise businesses block AI Browser Use
09/12/2025 | Infosecurity Magazine
A new Gartner report recommends that enterprise businesses block the use of artificial intelligence (AI) browsers until the associated risks can be adequately managed. The analyst firm warned that the default settings of these browsers prioritise user experience over security, exposing organisations to a range of risks.
These include indirect prompt injection, agents making erroneous actions due to inaccurate reasoning, the potential loss and abuse of credentials via phishing sites, and the loss of sensitive corporate data when processed by cloud-based AI services. The report indicates that the elimination of all the identified risks is unlikely, and organisations with low risk tolerance may need to block AI browsers for the long term.
