OpenAI establishes safety committee to train ChatGPT successor

OpenAI has announced that it is preparing to establish a safety and security committee to run alongside the training of a large language model (LLM) intended to supersede ChatGPT.

The committee will guide the board on critical safety and security decisions regarding the organisation's projects and operations. The safety committee is made up of existing company executives, including CEO Sam Altman, Chairman Bret Taylor, and four technical and policy experts, alongside board members Adam D’Angelo and Nicole Seligman.
