UPDATE: Latest ICO enforcement action

The ICO has issued the following monetary penalties, enforcement notices, undertakings and prosecutions as part of its role to ensure all organisations uphold their information rights obligations:

  • 05/03/21 - Leads Works Ltd has been issued a £250,000 fine for sending 2,670,140 marketing text messages to individuals without their consent during the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted a record 10,000 complaints. Read the penalty notice
  • 05/03/21 - Valca Vehicle Ltd has been issued an £80,000 fine for sending 95,004 unsolicited direct marketing messages promoting financial products, which resulted in 114 complaints. Read the penalty notice.
