Police complaints investigator found guilty of unlawfully obtaining sensitive personal data

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has confirmed that a lead investigator for the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has pleaded guilty to unlawfully obtaining sensitive personal data. Mohammed Ejaz was found to have emailed restricted information, including recordings of 999 calls related to a death, to his personal Hotmail account. Ejaz, 42, pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court on 15 July. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £2,000 in costs.
