John Edwards' DPPC 2025 opening speech

In his opening remarks at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Data Protection Practitioners' Conference (DPPC) 2025, Information Commissioner John Edwards confirmed that this will be the last ICO conference before the regulator. Changes are quietly being implemented in the background and are expected to be unveiled in April 2026.

In the rest of his address, the Commissioner touched on the importance of implementing robust cybersecurity practices and artificial intelligence (AI) training, but not much else.
