The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has updated its guidance on law enforcement processing of personal data to reflect the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUA Act), which takes effect on 19 June 2026. The updated guidance is aimed at individuals with day-to-day data protection responsibilities for competent authorities under Part 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA18).
The amended sections cover the Principles, Logging for law enforcement processing, and the National security exemption, reflecting changes introduced by the DUAA.
