ICO publishes new IT security tips and ransomware guidance

A fundamental tenet of data protection is how to keep data secure. With the number of cyber-related data breaches reported up 20% in the last two years, the ICO is urging organisations to do more to protect personal data. To support the increase in security, the ICO has issued new guidance and advice for two areas of IT this week. The first is a practical set of steps small businesses can take to protect their IT systems. The second is a more detailed set of guidelines for all organisations to protect against the threat of ransomware.
