ICO publishes Children's Code Strategy interim impact review
02/12/2025 | ICO
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published an interim impact review of its Age-Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code) strategy launched in 2024. The strategy has committed significant resources, including 45 staff, to undertake research and engage with 32 platforms, conducting risk assessments and evidence gathering. The review found that eight platforms have already made changes to improve data protection practices, directly affecting at least 747,000 UK children aged 3-17. Overall, up to 3 million child users are expected to benefit from changes made or planned by platforms.
