ICO opens guidance on biometric data consultation

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched a consultation into the first phase of its new guidance on biometric data. The draft guidance explains how data protection law applies when using biometric data in biometric recognition systems. The consultation closes on 20 October 2023.

A second phase of the guidance is expected to be published early in 2024 and will focus on biometric classification and data protection.
