ICO fines three companies £170,000 for PECR violations

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has fined three companies £170,000 for illegal direct marketing under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). 

  • Digivo Media Limited was fined £50,000 after it was found to have sent 415,041 text messages to individuals without consent in breach of regulation 22 of PECR.
  • MCP Online Ltd was fined £55,000 for making 20,939 marketing calls to individuals and businesses registered with the TPS or CTPS schemes in breach of regulations 21 and 24 of PECR.
  • Argentum Data Solutions Ltd was fined £65,000 after it was found to have sent 2,330,423 text messages to individuals without consent in breach of regulation 22 of PECR.
