ICO fines hearing aid company £190k for PECR violations

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has issued a £190,000 monetary penalty and enforcement notice to Elderly Aids Limited for making 758,053 unsolicited direct marketing calls to people registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS), resulting in 20 complaints over ten months ending in February 2025. The company repeatedly ignored ICO requests for information and continued making calls, leading to further complaints. The ICO found that the company had breached regulations 21 and 24 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PEC Regulations).
