ICO fines EB Associates £140,000 for pensions cold-calling

The ICO has issued EB Associates Group Limited its largest-ever fine for making 107,000 illegal cold calls to people about pensions between the 11th of January 2019 and the 30th of September 2019. The practice of making cold calls for pension services has been banned since the 9th of January 2019. EB Associates did not have the valid consent - freely given, specific and informed – to instigate the making of these calls.
