ICO encourages SMEs to check data protection measures are in place

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is calling for SMEs to ensure that they have adequate data protection practices in place to operate their businesses. The announcement comes ahead of Data Protection Day. Paul Arnold, Chief Operating Officer at the ICO, said "we want to help business owners work confidently and responsibly with the personal information they hold... Data protection compliance is not a barrier to business success and the ICO is here to help."
