ICO blog provides tips for processing SARs in a timely fashion

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has posted a blog article outlining the importance of providing data subjects timely access to their personal data upon receipt of a Subject Access Request (SAR). The blog, written by Andrew Laing, ICO Head of Data Protection Complaints, highlights how most of the 35,000 complaints received each year relate to personal data processing. He advises organisations to talk to their users/customers and engage in dialogue. Being proactive builds trust and removes uncertainty, but that it's essential to use plain English and always be honest.
