Why the US should 'go big' with global data transfer solution

The US government and the European Commission will have to find a solution for transborder data transfers following the invalidation of the EU-US Privacy Shield agreement. The IAPP explains that even though there are plenty of issues to consider when negotiating with the EU, the US should not think small. "While no solution can offer perfect certainty on these complex issues in the digital age, the Biden administration should certainly 'go big' to seek to establish a long-term solution to global data transfers," he writes.
