SCC update expected in coming weeks, EDPB guidance in June

The uncertainty over international data transfers with the EU is to receive much-anticipated attention in the coming weeks as the European Commission and the European Data Protection Board are expected to provide separate but significant updates. The IAPP has it on authority that the European Commission's Ralf Sauer said a new set of standard contractual clauses with changes to the previous draft would be published in the next two weeks. Alexander Filip of the Bavarian supervisory authority has also indicated a final version of the EDPB's recommendations on supplementary measures could come this June if the authorities can agree on them during next month's plenary meeting.
