IAPP publishes Privacy and AI Governance Report

24/01/2023 | IAPP

Amid the exponential growth in Artificial Intelligence (AI) deployments, the IAPP has published its Privacy and AI Governance Report. The report outlines different approaches to AI governance and how those efforts interplay with existing privacy governance approaches. Key findings include 80% of organisations are not focusing on privacy-enhancing technologies. However, 60% of respondents report their organisations have published  (internal or external) ethical AI use guidelines, and less than 50% of organisations are building responsible AI governance on top of existing, mature privacy programs. According to a PWC report Sizing the Prize, AI use is expected to grow by more than 25% each year for five years contributing over $15 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
