In a recent article for the IAPP, Jodi Daniels, the founder and CEO of Red Clover Advisors, emphasised the importance of cookie management for companies in complying with privacy and data protection laws. Daniels argues that obtaining consent for non-essential cookies, such as tracking or analytics cookies, is mandatory in most countries. However, while cookie banners are a common way to manage notice and choice obligations, companies need to carefully consider their implementation and create processes to maintain compliance as privacy laws evolve.
