EU Parliament Committee urges Commission to reject EU-US adequacy

The European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs has urged the European Commission to refrain from adopting adequacy based on the proposed EU-US Data Privacy Framework. MEPs called on the European Commission to renegotiate its data transfer agreement with the US in a Draft Motion for a Resolution published on Tuesday, 14 February. Issues concerning a lack of equivalent protections and insufficient EU consumer redress are the key points highlighted in their nonbinding opinion.
