EU Commission expected to unveil Digital Services Act in December

The European Commission is expected to unveil the Digital Services Act later this month, a proposed legislative package regulating digital service providers, as well as large online platforms, which are referred to as “gatekeepers.” The IAPP spoke to professionals exploring the proposal’s scope, who called it “an incredibly promising opportunity” to address issues and ensure the internet “remains a safe place for users and a competitive space for businesses.”
