Draft UK adequacy decisions — A somewhat lukewarm embrace?

The European Commission has released two draft decisions on the adequate protection of personal data by the UK. If approved, the two decisions will ensure that EU personal data can continue to flow freely to the UK. The IAPP takes a closer look at the decision "the commission is keenly aware that 'the danger' for the EU data does not lie in the current UK privacy laws but in what those laws may look like in the future," which explains why the adequacy decision is limited to four years.
