10-year State AI law moratorium removed by US Senate

The proposed 10-year moratorium on US State artificial intelligence laws provision has been removed from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by Congress. Senators voted 99-1 to strip the provision from the bill after a deal on a revised 5-year moratorium failed in the Senate. The moratorium could yet reemerge when the Senate sends its final reconciliation bill back to the House of Representatives for a final vote on the changes agreed in the Senate.
