IAB Europe launches Transparency and Consent Framework 2.2

IAB Europe's Transparency and Consent Framework Steering Group has approved updates to its Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF). Launched today, TCF Version 2.2 brings "meaningful changes" to better meet the expectations of regulators and the needs of end-users. 

The changes remove the option to select legitimate interest as the legal basis for advertising and content personalisation, leaving only consent as the acceptable legal basis. Other changes include improving information given to end-users and requiring vendors to provide additional information on their data processing activities.
