AI skills development is critical

The boom in artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked a surge in demand for related skills. This shift is dismantling traditional education models, as skills are now becoming obsolete in as little as two to three years.

Nearly half of talent development leaders surveyed in the 2025 LinkedIn Workplace Learning Report see a skills crisis, pressuring organisations to adopt continuous skill-building, particularly in AI. Companies are now shifting budgets towards continuous, integrated skill-building within daily workflows, recognising that employees fluent in AI, who can also think critically about its impacts, will drive the largest business gains.
